Driver Team Member

The Driver will be responsible for the transport of food, beverage, and event supplies and equipment to and from all events. They may assist the Operations and Kitchen Teams in pre and post packing and organization of event as well as support in various projects.

Operations:

• Ensure safe and efficient transport of food, beverage, and service items for off-premise events
• Ensure orders are efficient and accurate when loaded into company vehicle
• Drives company vehicles to events in the NY metro area; plan and map delivery routes
• Delivery and setup of drop-off style events to clients’ location; organize menu items per event set-up, which may include client facing interactions
• Ensure returns to the warehouse are cleaned and put away in their proper location post event
• Ensure all catering props and cooking equipment have been returned in quantity and working condition – address repairs or purchases as needed
• Follow established local laws, company culture, standard operating procedures, systems, and process
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly check lists as it relates vehicle maintenance
• Drive safely, professionally, legally, and efficiently

Essential Functions:

• The ability to speak, understand, read, and write in English
• Clean driving record
• Excellent street knowledge of NYC
• Prior experience with safe and legal operation of a commercial and non-commercial motor vehicle
• Prior experience in warehouse systems
• Attention to detail
• Team-oriented
• Good communicator: Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instruction
• Spanish language proficiency a plus
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Class D license, and a safe driving record and history
• Clean MVR
• The ability to work independently or as part of a team
• The ability to lift at least 30 pounds on a regular basis
• The ability to bend, stoop, stand, and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day
• Proficient in kitchen tool use
• Organized approach to projects
• Able to take and give direction
• Able to inspire others to be creative and work hard; a morale builder
• Adaptable in a fast-paced and challenging work environment
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
• Flexible to work long hours as needed

Experience / Qualifications:

1+ years’ experience in a driver role in catering or similar business
• Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel

Salary Range: $20 - $25/hourly
