Lead Pastry Production Cook
The Lead Pastry Production Cook is responsible for overseeing the preparation and production of a variety of pastries and baked goods. This role emphasizes production efficiency, organization, and maintaining high-quality standards. The individual will work directly with the Executive Pastry Chef to ensure all production elements are executed seamlessly.
Shift: Starting at 5:00 AM
Reports To: Executive Pastry Chef
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Lead the daily production of pastries, breads, and desserts, ensuring consistency and adherence to established recipes and quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior pastry staff, providing guidance and training to maintain a cohesive and efficient team.
- Inventory Management: Monitor ingredient inventory levels, assist in ordering supplies, and ensure proper storage and rotation to minimize waste.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks of all products, ensuring they meet the company's standards and client expectations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to develop new recipes, plan production schedules, and coordinate special projects or events.
- Sanitation and Safety: Ensure all kitchen areas and equipment are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production quantities, ingredient usage, and any deviations from standard recipes.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in pastry production, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Skills: Proficiency in various pastry techniques, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Language: Fluency in English is required. Spanish proficiency is preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability: Must be able to start shifts at 5:00 AM and have flexibility with scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
