Event Producer

The Event Producer is responsible for managing the planning and execution of off-premise catering events. This position will work with clients to finalize their events and then work with Sales and Operations to execute the event to the client’s standards while adhering to Deborah Miller Catering & Events protocols. This role would coordinate menus, rentals, and staffing, as well as be responsible for communicating with all internal teams to ensure successful event execution. The Event Manager will be responsible for timeline development, logistical creative execution, work-processes, and client communication. You must be a self-starter, execution obsessed, be able to work with a variety of people with varying work styles, and the ability to prioritize workload.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with initial sales inquiries and prepare quotes as needed
  • Manage all client communications relating to the production of events, ensuring the highest quality experience for clients is consistently delivered
  • Manage all internal communications relating to the production of event, while meeting weekly deadlines for completion of food, beverage, in-house equipment, and rental equipment orders, including post-event synopsis
  • Manage Banquet Event Orders, including changes and special requests
  • Coordinate and lead site visits
  • Administrative paperwork. Not limited to:
       o Create and edit rental equipment orders accordingly 
       o Apply for liquor permits
       o Creating and editing menus
       o Certificate of Insurance
  •  Attend events to ensure successful execution and to provide additional support and supervision
  • Coordinate and plan tastings with clients
  • Work with the on-site Events Team for off-premise events to create “one-of-a-kind” experiences
  • Establishes and maintains service standards and hospitality best practices
  • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and a variable schedule, per the needs of the business
  • Proactive approach to handle challenges that arise and an ability to quickly troubleshoot problems on the event day



    Experience / Qualifications:
    • 1+ years’ experience in an account or event management role in catering or similar business
    • Bachelor’s degree or certification in a hospitality related field or equivalent experience
    • Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially Catering Software Programs, CRMs, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
    • Basic understanding of off-premise event logistics and requirements, off-premise event management experience required
    • Demonstrated interest in the hospitality industry, specifically in catering, event planning and/or sales
    • You must be a self-starter, problem-solving, adaptable, and detail-oriented person
    • Must be able to work with a variety of people with varying work styles, and the ability to prioritize workload
    • The ability to work independently or as part of a team
    • Excellent communicator and with superb verbal and written communication skills
    • Work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects/assignments with tight deadlines

Salary Range: $65k - $75k
